Important Meeting

by UT Cycling

Tuesday Nov. 1st, 8:00 PM in CPE 2.206
Since monday is Halloweeen, we will be holding our regular Moday meeting on Tuesday.
We will be discussing several issuses vital to the club’s success in the spring and everyone should attend if at all possible.

1. Fundraisers - Our two major fundraisers are coming up. The Sweatin’ Burnt Orange Bike Tour will be held on Nov. 13th and the Friends of UTCC Fundraising Dinner the following Saturday Nov. 16th.

2. For those who are new to competitive cycling, October through January is the traditional offseason. You’re going to be riding less during this time, but it doesn’t mean time off either. The foundations that you lay during what’s known as the “base” training period will determine how your racing season will go in the Spring. It’s also a great time for new cyclists to continue to develop.

David Wenger will be present to introduce and take questions on his offseason training regimen. The November training schedule will be posted on Tuesday but it will be password protected. You need to come to the meeting to get the password. If you can’t make the meeting for a good reason then please email Daniel or Ernie for the password. It is important you attend, though, so you can make sure you understand David’s training recommendations. The death of your best friend’s grandmother’s dog “Bingo” is not a good excuse, no, I don’t care that Bingo was his name-o.

3. We will have a special video presentation. It’s a cycling documentary involving drug scandals, walking in an aero position, a golfball, a jump rope and several 100 tons of concrete.

4. Discussion of what to expect from the club through the offseason. This will be kind of open discussion on things or might do.

Again, you need to come to this meeting. The success of the club for the rest of the year is dependent on everything we discuss. Thanks
