Tunis/Our Race

The MSU Stage race will take place this coming weekend, March 24-25th. We will be having a team meeting to prepare for the race Monday Night in CPE 2.214 at 8:00PM. Attendance is mandatory for anyone wanting to attend the race.
We are meeting at CPE at 10:00 am on Saturday for the race.

Also, every Tuesday throughout the month, Stackhouse’s Dirt Derby Race will be going on for MTBers and Cross fans. Check it out and email Stackhouse if you’re interested in helping out.
For current and prospective members. The first ten minutes will be devoted to introducing the club. Perspective members can also check us out next Monday when we’ll have our meeting at Austin’s Pizza and on February 5th in CPE again. Hope to see you there.

University of Texas Cycling is proud to annouce we’ll be teaming up with Bicycle Sport Shop for the 2007 season. As the largest bike shop in the Austin area, Bike Sport Shop maintains a strong presence in the Austin Cycling and Racing communities sponsoring many events and programs like the AMLI Downtown Criterium, The Ride for the Roses and Bikes for Kids. Their support will be key to our continued growth and success in both the collegiate and USCF racing scenes. Bicycle Sport Shop will also sponsor all Texas Cycling events including our collegiate Road Races in April and the Third Annual Sweatin’ Burnt Orange Bike Tour to be held the final weekend of October.
On Thursday, Jan 25th the shop will be hosting Pro Nite with special guests Bob Roll and Kevin Livingston among others.

Texas Cycling Members,
Welcome back. I hope everyone has had a good break and is looking forward to the 2007 road season. As everyone should know by now, our training camp will be held next week, Jan. 8th through the 11th. Final plans will be distributed through the listserv in the next few days and posted on here shortly after. You should have turned in your blue rec sports membership forms and a copy of your health insurance to rec sports by now and paid dues. You cannot participate in the training camp if you have not completed these items.
The conference cyclocross championships will be held on January 14th. Please contact Brenda Moczygemba if you are interested in attending those. All membership requirements apply for participation in this race also.
Our first monthly general meeting will be held at 8:00 PM on January 22nd in the CPE building (room number TBA). All members are required to attend. If you cannot attend please email me prior to the meeting with a legitimate reason for not attending. Recruiting will take place in front of Gregory from Tuesday through Friday during the first week of classes. The first 10 minutes of our meeting will be an introduction for new and perspective members.
The Spring Road Calendar has been finalized and can be viewed here. We will discuss the schedule and the upcoming semester in depth at the meeting.

Last chance to request specific sizes for the team kit order. We’ll be ordering a lot of extras of jerseys and shorts, but not of things like jackets and arm warmers so you need to put your size down for those.
Also, plans for the month of November, introduction of a team training camp in January, maintenance demo, SBOBT totals and information on the MTB conference championships next weekend.
